WILEY,​ ​Roy​ ​McLean​ ​-​ ​1922-2009​ ​it​ ​is​ ​with​ ​great​ ​sadness​ ​that​ ​I​ ​announce​ ​the
passing​ ​of​ ​my​ ​beloved​ ​husband​ ​of​ ​63​ ​years,​ ​Roy​ ​McLean​ ​Wiley,​ ​at​ ​Hospice
Niagara,​ ​St.​ ​Catharines,​ ​on​ ​Friday,​ ​November​ ​6th,​ ​2009.​ ​Roy​ ​is​ ​now​ ​in​ ​the​ ​loving
arms​ ​of​ ​Jesus​ ​Our​ ​Lord​ ​and​ ​Saviour.​ ​Roy​ ​was​ ​born​ ​in​ ​Whitewood,
Saskatchewan​ ​to​ ​Bill​ ​and​ ​Isa​ ​Wiley​ ​(Lumb).​ ​During​ ​WWII​ ​they​ ​moved​ ​to​ ​Thunder
Bay​ ​(Fort​ ​William).​ ​Roy​ ​was​ ​in​ ​the​ ​R.C.A.F.​ ​and​ ​that​ ​is​ ​Where​ ​he​ ​met​ ​Marion
Edith​ ​Knibbs.​ ​We​ ​married​ ​in​ ​June,​ ​1946​ ​and​ ​moved​ ​East​ ​and​ ​had​ ​2​ ​Sons.​ ​After
Roy​ ​was​ ​discharged​ ​from​ ​the​ ​R.C.A.F.,​ ​he​ ​had​ ​three​ ​jobs.​ ​The​ ​first​ ​Was​ ​a​ ​job​ ​as
purchasing​ ​it​ ​agent​ ​for​ ​Massey​ ​Harris​ ​in​ ​Brantford,​ ​the​ ​-​ ​second​ ​was​ ​with
Metropolitan​ ​Life​ ​and​ ​while​ ​there​ ​he​ ​received​ ​his​ ​CLU​ ​degree.​ ​In​ ​1966​ ​he
became​ ​a​ ​manager​ ​for​ ​income​ ​Security​ ​(CPP,​ ​OAS​ ​and​ ​family​ ​allowance)​ ​for​ ​the
Federal​ ​Government.​ ​He​ ​opened​ ​an​ ​office​ ​in​ ​Hamilton​ ​then​ ​in​ ​St.
Catharines/Niagara​ ​Falls.​ ​In​ ​1975​ ​he​ ​transferred​ ​to​ ​Vancouver,​ ​B.C.​ ​retiring​ ​from
there​ ​in​ ​1987.​ ​Roy​ ​was​ ​a​ ​member​ ​of​ ​Brant​ ​Masonic​ ​Lodge​ ​in​ ​Brantford;​ ​the​ ​Fort
Erie​ ​Legion​ ​and​ ​for​ ​40​ ​years​ ​Rotarian,​ ​the​ ​last​ ​20​ ​years​ ​in​ ​Fort​ ​Erie​ ​Rotary​ ​Club,
where​ ​he​ ​received​ ​the​ ​Paul​ ​Harris​ ​Fellowship​ ​for​ ​his​ ​dedication​ ​and​ ​community
involvement.​ ​Roy​ ​Was​ ​also​ ​a​ ​member​ ​of​ ​St.​ ​Andrews-Knox​ ​Presbyterian​ ​Church.
He​ ​will​ ​be​ ​sadly​ ​missed​ ​by​ ​Marion​ ​his​ ​wife,​ ​his​ ​son​ ​Richard​ ​(Krystal),​ ​his​ ​sister
Wanda​ ​Kellner​ ​(Orland),​ ​his​ ​brother​ ​Elden​ ​(Andria),​ ​his​ ​grandchildren,​ ​great
grandchildren,​ ​nieces​ ​and​ ​nephews​ ​and​ ​many​ ​friends.​ ​Cremation​ ​has​ ​taken
place.​ ​A​ ​memorial​ ​will​ ​be​ ​held​ ​at​ ​a​ ​later​ ​date.​ ​Special​ ​thanks​ ​to​ ​the​ ​nurses​ ​and
staff​ ​of​ ​Hospice​ ​who​ ​are​ ​so​ ​patient​ ​and​ ​kind.​ ​Arrangements​ ​entru​ ​Ste​ ​Cd​ ​With
SIMPLER​ ​TIMES​ ​CREMATION​ ​CENTRE.​ ​MemOria​ ​dOnationS​ ​may​ ​be​ ​made​ ​to
Hospice​ ​Niagara.
