The building in questio n, no w owned by th e S tron g Co b Arner
Comp. of Canada Ltd., was f or merly owned and I believe, built by
The Gene 3 .e Pure Food Comp. of Leroy N.Y. a roun d 1 91 8.
The or i ginal plant wa s used in t he ma nufactur e of Je ll o
desert s an d puddings, and wa s b uil t so me time betwee n 1910 &amp; 1 920.
It is a 2/-! story Â· bu.ilding constructed maip.ly . of . c~ emen t. Th0 f2. rst
or main floor was used f or offices, s t ora ge and packaging. The
seconci floor contained the two mixing ma chin es, wher e the Jello
in gre dien t s were mi xed together. Th ! i xtures wer e drop ped down
t o t he ho l dj.ng bins locate d above. t he packagi n r ~ achines, t her e
c in g a :.e para t e bin for ec-, c h fl a vour. Th e t hir d floor was t he
s uga r r oom . The small base me nt r oo m was used t o ho use the coal

Mr. W. J. Harlow is the Vice Presidnet and General Ma nager. He
took over from the former manager Bazil Keavey. Seve ral additions
have b e en added to the ori ginal building to accomodate the
phenominal increase in the Company!s business.
