In the passing av1ay of Hiss ,Jean Russel, on Thursday la.st, Fort ErieÂ·
loses a 4\ell-know and highly respected citizen. 'Mis1:&gt; Hussel was the

second daughter of the late William Russel and Janet Debbie Russel,
:p:l.oneers of Welland County. Her enU,.re life, :With the exception of a
few early years spent in the Dobl:;j.E:: housc;;hoid had been passed in the
Murray St. house j_n which $.:Â·1e was born~ Coupled with a. deep love of
home, r.Â·fiss ftussel had a great love of outdoor li. fe. She was a member
of -st. Andrew's Presbyterian church, and the daughters of the E.rnpj.re;
took an active part in the workings of _that organization, and in all
.movements pertaining to the weafa:tq~ of the contmuni ty, aa well Ji.$ a

keen in the politics of her country; she was a lifG-long liberal.
l'ltiss Russel with her sister .Mrs. Mc. Far::i.and, spent the winter iÂµ
Tulsa Okla., returning to Ii"'ort Erie, Ivlay .~a,st â€¢ .Whi.1~1 her health had not
been per feet, she had been able to be out occassi.onally, unti.l thursady
morning when she was taken suddenly i l l with a si!IB.ing ~pell, and
passed away peace fully at 11~30. Â·
