FORT ERIE (May 22, 2020) The Town of Fort Erie is currently working through the development and implementation of a recovery plan to guide the municipality through the process of recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Province has provided information and expanded frameworks for reopening Ontario after COVID-19. The easing of public health measures related to COVID-19 restrictions will be phased in over time and will vary by sector. As part of the recovery planning process, the Town’s Emergency Operations Group has put together three groups to focus on developing procedures for opening town facilities; returning outside workers; and returning inside workers. The recovery process is an opportunity to become a more resilient community and therefore must be strategically planned to maintain a balance needed to support the economy while protecting the health of staff and the public.
