Text Any textual data included in the document. van der SLUIS, Henry Johan - Passed away peacefully on Monday January 27, 2014 at Maple Park Lodge just shy of his 91st birthday. He was a devoted husband of 65 years and a loving father to Henry (Carol), John (deceased), Lisa (Steve Duckhart), and Peter (Sandra). He was also a fun loving grandfather to Jason, Julia, Jonathan and Chelsea and Sarah. Born February 15,1923 in the Netherlands, he volunteered to go into American forces in the Marines, trained in the Carolinas and did a tour in Asia. He immigrated to Canada in the early 50's, worked for Metropolitan Life, and then at General Motors, where he retired. He was always full of adventures and loved life and his family. He will be missed by all that knew him. At his request cremation has taken place and we will have a service at a later time when all his children and grandchildren and relatives can be present.
