VAN HEZEWYK, John -It is with great sadness that the family of John Van Hezewyk announces his passing from earth into Heaven's garden. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by all his family on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at the age of 73. His positive attitude, courage and strength with which he lived his life will always be a blessing for his family. Loving husband of Toni Van Hezewyk for 47 years. Dearest father of Jetta (John Witlib), Leo (Gloria), Anita (Peter Farrell), Chris (Christine), Peter (Lisa Craig), Paul (Shannon), and John (Patti). Loving Opa of Christa, Lee, Andrea, Laura, Matthew, Melissa, Joshua, Jacob, Chandra, Victoria, Cameron, Patita and Johannes. Cherished by his brothers and sisters Albert, Gerrit, Cor, Leo, Anne, Al, Mary, Paula and Gabriel. Predeceased by his parents Johanna and Johannes, and his brothers Emmanuel and Frank. Special uncle to many nieces and nephews. He ran Sunshine Greenhouses with his family in Port Colborne for years and enjoyed his retirement years running Oma and Opa's Antiques with his wife and sons in Crystal Beach. Friends called at J.J. PAT TERSON & SONS FUNERAL RESIDENCE, 19 Young Street, Welland on Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27 where a Vigil was held on Sunday at 2:30p.m. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at The Parish Community of St. Kevin on Monday at 11:30a.m. Rite of Committal followed at Holy Cross Cemetery.
