VENTURINI, John C - of Ridgeway, Ontario, passed away on August 20, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer in his 83rd year. John is survived by his wife of 57 years Amelia, his son Roly and wife Derene, daughter Diana and husband Andre. John is also survived by his four granddaughters Kyla, Nechelle, Rachael and Rebecca. John was known by many as the original owner of John's Shell Gas Bar since 1967. He volunteered with the Kinsmen Club and was the driver for the volunteer ambulance service for many years. His love of the outdoors led him to his yearly motor home trips to Florida with his wife. He loved to travel to his hometown in Italy where his ashes will be eventually laid to rest. All that knew John are invited to celebrate his life and spirit on Sunday September 1st at his home at 770 Mathews Road in Ridgeway from 1pm to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been created in John's name at the Juravanski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation to support Melanoma Research. Special thanks to Dr. Che, the home care nurses from St. Elizabeth's, the staff at Welland Hospital and all those who have expressed condolences.
