During summer of 2020, construction began toward building a student residence for Fort Erie International Academy. The progress was hampered by the Covid-19 pandemic, but its pace quickly picked up once restrictions were lifted. Construction workers used pre-fabricated materials to expedite the process of building residence to the immediate north of the old football field.
Fort Erie Pride held its first LGBT Pride-related event at the Belltower on Central Avenue in June of 2020. A much larger event had been planned, but the Covid-19 pandemic forced the organizers to reschedule until the following years. Because some restrictions were lifted by June, this smaller event was still held. This event helped mark a social shift of inclusiveness in the community.

Pictured here is the building best known for having housed Reid's Sports, located on the north side of Garrison Road. Later, it served as a martial arts studio and a campaign office for Wayne Redekop, and stood vacant after.
