In 1950 Rev. M. Irwin invited Bishop Bagnall to come to the Parish for the purpose of consecrating the Communio,y Hall as an t Anglican house of worship. It was renamed St. James Chapel. The building was considerably enlare,ed, wi t.; h the addition of a basement and more facilities up3 ·i :,,airs. The inte1'.'ior was completely refinished with voluntery help , and it was equipped wi th lovely hand wrought furnishings; la13ely thci w or~ of the Learn family. Regular Sunday Evensong Services were held here, as well as co.!llmunion services once a month for the Sunday School child :ren and their parents. However in later years, at t endance fell off and services were discon~inued entirely. St. James' Chapel is still maintained as a Sunday School hall, and services children in the area.
