FORT ERIE (June 9, 2020) In order to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Fort Erie, Bay Beach (also known as Crystal Beach) will remain closed to anyone without a Fort Erie resident season pass. “The decision to keep Bay Beach closed to visitors was a tough one but we believe that it was the right choice for Fort Erie. We are a small town with limited resources. It’s important that we put the proper restrictions in place to ensure we can manage the beach according to the new health and safety guidelines put forth by the Province. We will happily welcome back our visitors as soon as we feel it's safe for everyone to enjoy,” said Tom Kuchyt, Chief Administrative Officer. Resident season passes for Bay Beach are being offered to Fort Erie residents, Fort Erie taxpayers and Fort Erie short-term rental operators with proof of address such as a driver's license, passport, tax bill or any bill that shows the person’s name and address. The fee for obtaining a Bay Beach resident season pass has been waived for 2020. Passes and day passes will not be available on-site (at Bay Beach) for health and safety reasons. Resident season passes will be made available for pick-up at the Leisureplex and Crystal Ridge arenas during select dates and times. The resident season pass pick-up schedule as well as start date and hours of operations for Bay Beach will be available later this week. A maximum of 2,000 people will be allowed entry to Bay Beach per day (with no exceptions) to ensure physical distancing measures can be practiced.
