We’d love to welcome your class to the library! Our programs encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning through engaging, hands-on activities.

Programs are available at any FEPL location, in your classroom, or in your school library.

Explore our programs by grade level and find a visit that’s a great fit for your class.

Kindergarten and Grade 1 - Welcome to the Library!

Together we’ll read a story, work on a craft, and have some time to play in our communal space. We love the library!

Grade 2 – Canadian Artists in the Wild

At our visit, we’ll read a book with art by a Canadian artist. We’ll explore the importance of supporting Canadian art and create our own masterpiece using oil pastels and paint.

Grade 3/4 – Dash & Dot Robots

Students will learn the basics of block coding while playing with a Dash and Dot Robot.

Grade 4/5 - Printing 3D Structures

Learn about 3D design! Students will learn about 3D printing and how to create designs using the website Tinkercad. We’ll discuss how the library can print your projects!

Grade 5 – Fort Erie Railway Museum

Weather dependent

In this visit, we’ll meet at the library for a short introduction to the space, before walking to the Fort Erie Railway Museum to learn a little more about trains.

Grade 6 – Our Solar System

Learn about our wonderful solar system before diving in to create space themed slime.

Class Visit Includes: FEPL Presentation: Our Solar System • Read-aloud of space book from library catalog • Activity: Space-themed slime.

Grades 7 & 8 - Consider the Source

Students will learn how to critically think about information through the aid of an interactive escape room activity. They will use hints placed around the library to test their knowledge on various sources, as well as the research purposes they serve, leading them to a surprise!

Grades 9-12 – Consider the Source

Our library staff will highlight different kinds of resources you might use for an assignment, the library’s research resources, and the pros and cons of using AI for homework and assignments.

Grades 9-12 – All About YA

This information session for high school students talks about our YA collection. We’ll discuss diverse authors, genres, and readers’ advisory tools for you to find your perfect book.

All Ages & Grades – Introduction to the Library

Get a customized tour of your local branch (Centennial, Crystal Ridge, Stevensville). We can tailor our presentation to specific subject areas upon request.
