1.01 Mission Statement

An open door to lifelong learning and leisure opportunities for the empowerment of all members of the community.

The Fort Erie Public Library Board aims to provide for the informational and recreational requirements of the residents of Greater Fort Erie, with an emphasis on education, in a cost-effective manner.

Results to be achieved in pursuit of this mission are:

• Community members are empowered by a wide range of available information/knowledge to achieve their individual learning goals:
• Community members of all ages engaged in formal learning programs up to the post-secondary level have access to resources to support their learning curricula.
• Community members have access to information they require to achieve their individual learning goals.
• Community members develop the skills necessary to find and/or use information effectively.
• Community members enjoy an enhanced quality of life and a broader view of the world:
• Community members have recreational reading and inexpensive entertainment opportunities.
• Community members enjoy a variety of opportunities to meet their cultural needs.
